1-ON-1 with SumixNFT Owner - March 06, 2022

Hello, my name is Jonathon Mitchell, and I am the owner of SumixNFT. I pride myself as a Syilx, Westbank First Nation Member, which is located in the Okangan valley, in British Columbia, Canada. As an Indigenous individual, I want to give back to my people and Indigenous communities around the world. I want to provide Indigenous artists with the opportunity to share their music, culture, art, language, stories, or anything that they hold close to their hearts, with the world. I want to provide an outlet that Indigenous peoples around the world come to share their media and profit. But, I also want to make sure we all give back. Give back to our communities. Give back to our people. Revitalize our languages and traditions. Ensure the world knows our history and our culture, while also preserving it. Sumix means power in the nsyilxcən language (Okanagan). And in this context, SumixNFT is giving power to the Indigenous artist, so they can give back to their community.
